Hybrid creatures, looking down on the audience, are a combination of the fantastic animals that survived the disappearing, cruel world of the circus, and the humans who found pleasure in watching them. After escaping, wandering for many years, and finally developing into their true forms, they have agreed to return and look back at the world they left behind, and see how it has changed. The creatures examine the audience from above; the spectator is dwarfed by their immense presence – the public has become circus animals.
